The Game Changer:Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The Game Changer:Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

This date marks the birth of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1929. He was an African American minister and activist.

From Atlanta, the eldest son of a Baptist minister, King entered Morehouse College at 15. He graduated with a degree in sociology in 1948, and went on to Boston University earning a doctoral degree in systematic theology. King’s education exposed him to conditions that related Christian theology to the struggles of oppressed peoples. His first ministry was in Montgomery, Alabama. He was president of the Montgomery Improvement Association, which directed the Montgomery bus boycott.

In 1957, King helped found the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in a series of protest campaigns that gained national attention. King's 1963 "I Have a Dream" speech expressed the hopes of the civil rights movement in oratory as moving as any address in American history. His speech, following years of demonstrations, created the political momentum that resulted in the Civil Rights Act of 1964. King was awarded the 1964 Nobel Prize for peace. Throughout 1966 and 1967, King increasingly turned the focus of his civil rights activism throughout the country to economic issues.

This took King to Memphis, Tennessee, to support striking black garbage workers in the spring of 1968. He was assassinated in Memphis on April 4. After his death, Martin Luther King Jr. came to represent black courage and achievement, high moral leadership, and the ability of Americans to address and overcome racial divisions.

Sanitary Napkins: Mary Beatrice Davidson Kenner

Sanitary Napkins: Mary Beatrice Davidson Kenner

Much respect to her!!!

Mary Beatrice Davidson Kenner was an incredible inventor who didn’t receive nearly enough credit for her innovations while she was alive. Her work fundamentally changed the way people all over the world, especially women, go about their day-to-day lives.

Mary Beatrice Davidson Kenner was the brilliant mind behind pads (also referred to as sanitary napkins). Although her invention was initially rejected due to racial discrimination, it was finally accepted 30 years later in 1956.

In addition to her groundbreaking work on sanitary napkins, Mary received five patents for her household inventions, including the bathroom tissue holder, which she co-invented with her sister.

Thank you, Mary, for looking out for the ladies. ❤️πŸ’―πŸŒΉ WE LOVE AND APPRECIATE YOU!

Peace: The Ultimate Peace

Peace: The Ultimate Peace

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you... John 14:27

Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.” Where does peacemaking begin? How can we become peacemakers? Can peace be discovered within ourselves? Freud has told us that peace is but a mental attitude. Cast off our phobias, shed our neuroses, and “bingo!”-we’ll have the coveted peace we long for. I respect psychiatry for what it can do. Unquestionably, it has helped many. But it certainly is not satisfactory as a substitute for the peace which can come only from God. If psychiatry leaves God out, ultimately we shall see psychiatrists going to each other for treatment. There can be no peace until we find peace with God. The Bible says, “He is our peace.”

The balm of Your peace pours over my soul and I humbly praise You, almighty God.

Origin Of The Town Named Igbeti

Origin Of The Town Named Igbeti

Here is the origin of the name Igbeti.

Laogun, the great hunter, quit hunting because he had killed too many “demonic animals” which made him unable to father a male child. So whenever he was asked why he did not have bush meat, he would reply “emi ti pa gbe ti” (I have abandoned the bush). The town became known as “the village of baba (old man) t’o pa’gbe ti (abandoned hunting). This was further coined as “IGBETI”. What do you know about Igbeti?

Nikolay Bogdanov-Belsky's painting: "At the School Doors,"

Nikolay Bogdanov-Belsky's painting:"At the School Doors."

Nikolay Bogdanov-Belsky's painting "At the School Doors," created in 1897, is a poignant portrayal of the educational aspirations and challenges faced by rural children in late 19th-century Russia. The painting, also known as "At the Door of the School," depicts a young boy standing hesitantly at the entrance of a classroom. Dressed in worn clothes and carrying a shoulder bag and a wooden stick, the boy represents the many children from humble backgrounds who yearned for an education.

The boy's posture and expression, although his face is turned away from the viewer, convey a mix of apprehension and hope as he gazes at the diligent students inside the classroom. The detailed background, featuring a school board, a map, and the bowed heads of students, emphasizes the educational setting and the boy's longing to be part of it.

Bogdanov-Belsky's use of light and color, with a palette dominated by yellows and browns, enhances the warmth and realism of the scene. The painting reflects the artist's personal experiences and his empathy for the peasant children, as Bogdanov-Belsky himself once stood at the door of a rural school, dreaming of an education despite his modest origins.

Location of the painting: State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg, Russia.

THE UNFORGETTABLE DAY ARCHBISHOP IDAHOSA AND EVANGELIST REINHARD BONNKE HAD CRUSADE IN IBADAN

THE UNFORGETTABLE DAY ARCHBISHOP IDAHOSA AND EVANGELIST REINHARD BONNKE HAD CRUSADE IN IBADAN

Archbishop Benson Idahosa was a great apostle of God in Nigeria and the world in general. He gave his life to Christ at a very tender age and started working in rare dimensions of radical faith in God Almighty.

He through the power of God did exploits ordinary people couldn’t do. He healed the sick people and perform all manner of miracles.

Archbishop Idahosa travelled a lot because of the various invitations he received from different countries. He did that with joy and passion and the miraculous followed as he prayed for the sick, dead, lame, blind and all.

In the year 1985, he was to hold a crusade in Ibadan, Nigeria; being a strategist he understood the challenge at the time. He thought on how to connect to the people without any form of restriction by the people. He prayed and he had the strong persuasion in him to invite Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke.

However, before Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke decided to come for the crusade he had understanding of whom Archbishop Idahosa was and the 'voltage' of the power of God he carries. Reinhard Bonnke had also been working in the power of God where he started out in Lesotho. He has visited Zambia, Togo, Uganda and many more countries for crusades with tens of thousands in attendance.

At a point in the ministry of Reinhard Bonnke when he invited Pastor Kenneth Copeland to his crusade Kenneth Copeland prophesied that he was going to start reaching out to millions of people but he never knew how it would happen.

As Archbishop Idahosa invited him for the crusade in Ibadan, he came to Nigeria 9 weeks before the crusade with his team for the first time to meet with Archbishop Idahosa to fine-tune modalities for the crusade.

Before the meeting with the Archbishop, he had this “irritation” about the way Archbishop Idahosa ministers. Benson Idahosa will always like to pray for the sick before salvation message to the people but Bonnke believed salvation message first before miracle. After the meeting he felt he was led to come for the crusade in Ibadan.

In preparation for the powerful crusade, Archbishop Idahosa had ordered the printing of one million five hundred handbills, fifty thousand posters and 2000ushers to distribute the handbills and paste posters. Jingles were on the national radio and television to sensitise people for the crusade.

The people were fully ready for the great day. All preparations for the arrival of Evangelist Bonnke and the staging of the crusade were on top gear. The Evangelist arrived some days to the historic event with some international friends of the ministry.

Finally, the day for the crusade came and there were unprecedented miracles, impartations, deliverances, salvation and Holy Ghost baptism. It was really a fire crusade. The ministration between Bonnke and Idahosa were alternated.

Millions of people trooped in for the crusade and thousands of souls were rescued from the kingdom of darkness into light. There was a fresh release upon the life of Reinhard Bonnke as a result of the crusade.

After the crusade in Ibadan, Reinhard Bonnke went to Ghana and had over 800,000 people tin attendance. Reinhard Bonnke started making plans to come to Nigeria again but this time it will be on the on the platform of Christ for all Nations. His plans worked out he came and the crusade was successful.

This was how the ministry door was opened to Reinhard Bonnke in Nigeria through Archbishop Idahosa. The Archbishop was also instrumental in bringing to pass the prophecy of Kenneth Copeland upon his ministry.

Joel Osteen: Change Your Focus.

   Change Your Focus

Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2, NIV)

We all have days when we don’t feel very enthusiastic. If you don’t feel like you have any reason to be excited about your life, today is the day to change your focus! It’s time to set your mind on things above.

Too often, we settle for what we see in this earthly realm, but God has so much more for us in the supernatural realm. Whatever we choose to focus on is what we will see manifested in our lives. We need to daily set our focus on the goodness of God and keep hope alive.

Today is not the day to give up on your dreams; it’s the day to feed your dreams. That means instead of dragging around finding every reason you can to be unhappy, your attitude should be: “I am not going to live my life defeated and depressed. I may have some obstacles in my path, but I know I have victory in my future. I know God has great things in store for me, so I’m going to get up each day anticipating the good things He has in store for me!”

Father, I choose to set my mind on You. I know that Your dream for me is so much bigger than my own. Draw me close to You as I daily set my focus on You. I bless You today and always. In Jesus Name. Amen.
