Education came to Africa and other part of the world by the virtue of the Christian missionaries who God used. Thank God for that! Presently, you and I are the pristine and vibrant missionaries who God is using to continue spreading the Light around the world.

 Arishi is a remote village in Nassarawa State, Nigeria. The village comprised of two loving tribes Bassa and Afor. These tribes have been living together in harmony for several years. The people of Arishi are loving, hospitable and accommodating. The VOLUNTER TEACHERS NETWORK BASSA OUTREACH can attest to their topnotch hospitality and friendliness. The VOLUNTER TEACHERS NETWORK (VTN) is an arm of the SOWERS INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION which engages in teaching and salvation of souls of children. While SOWERS is the parent body organization that deals in preaching the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the unreached around the world.

Furthermore, talking about the people of Arishi, what a loving people! They are receptive to changes and development. The major occupation of the people of Arishi is farming. This is because the village is blessed with arable and vast area of land for farming. They cultivate all kinds of crops such as rice, maize, beans, yam, groundnut, soybeans etc. Do you know that the people of Arishi farm from 6am to 6 pm? That’s shocking and surprising!  The VTN witnessed this during their last outreach over there. Moreso, Arishi village is made up of about hundreds of population of which the high percentage of it is children and teenagers. These children and teenagers are full of intelligence, creativity and potentiality. To the glory of God, quite a number of the people of Arishi have accepted Christ as their personal Lord and Savior through the preaching and demonstration of the power of God by the missionaries over there.

 Despite all these, this village does not have any structure called a school. A village in which the high percentage of its population is children and teenagers. This is surprising! This village needs a standard school. We know that education is invaluable in this current dispensation and that education is pivotal in shaping the future. The school in other villages is 2 hours on bike to get to and about 4 hours on foot. That sounds difficult, risky and stressful! Can you imagine a village where children and teenagers make up the average population does not have a school! This is alarming! School must be established in Arishi village by God's grace. Funds and sponsorship are needed to achieve this. A vast area of land is readily available for this. The small cash in your hands can go a long way in achieving this mission of building a school in Arishi. Mobilization and publicity are also needed too.

"Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain."

Judging by what is written above, there seems to be some professionals being talked about. These professionals are learned, well-educated, savvy, knowledgeable and are expert and authorities in their areas of expertises.

Without mincing words, we all have an idea of what professionals can do. They can do and undo in their various areas of expertises. Hmmmm.. They are guru. They know the in and out of their works.

Imagine telling an expert and professional that he's unlearned in his field. To create a better picture of this scenario, "Ben Carson does not know anything about surgery neither can he do anything therein". Hmm... What a cheap joke! Ben Carson, the great and successful surgeon ever produce in surgery. A force to reckon with.

There are experts, professionals, well learned people in various areas of their expertise. They are well known and they have performed many successful operations in their fields of expertises such as: making new discoveries, being cited as authorities, inventing new things, laying down new irrefutable laws and principles, breaking records etc.

Professionals and experts indeed! The above words of King David, vividly tell us that without God's help or involvement in these experts works, the outcome will be fruitless and unproductive.

No matter how well you are good at a particular thing, my bro and sis, without God, your expertise, efforts, toiling, sleepless night will be fruitless.

 Let's not be too wise, knowledgeable, savvy and expert to remove God from our endeavors.

CROSSING THE RIVER

On getting to the river, as big and large like my mother's cooking pot,

I was aghast of such a wonderful nature by God.

Having seen such like that in picture and video but now, seeing face-to-face river that is as big and large like my mother's pot.

 

Alas and alack! "How do we cross this river",

 I asked in wonderment and perplexity.

"We will use the boat to cross over" answered an elderly man around.

 Boarding a boat for the first time in history.

 I was surprised.

 

On boat, we were there crossing the big and large volume of water.

In the middle of the big and large volume of water,

 I thought, “how can I escape if the boat accidentally capsize?

Do I know how to swim? Definitely no.

 This will surely make me bait; either lunch or dinner for the fishes in the water.

Oh Lord see me through!

 

I'm not like Jonah and I will never be the second Jonah to be swallowed by fish.

 I promise to always obey your instructions and order.

Dear Lord, see me through and don't leave others behind too.

Amen and amen".

 Finally, we crossed the big and large volume of water safely.

Having planned everything.

Having made everything, the Creator calls the Creation

And put everything He has planned

And made in the Creation’s care and control.

 

The creation feels superior.

He thinks he has gotten everything and that he can do and undo.

He forgets the Creator, who planned and made all before calling him and giving all to him.

The Creator looks at the creation in wonderment.

 

 "So soon he has forgotten me.

That's the reason I don't give all to him.

 Because I know the creation I planned and made.

He is ungrateful. I will always make him to come to me.

He will have all but not all."

These are the consolatory words of the Creator.

THE THRILL OF THE CHASE.

 

The Thrill OF THE chase.

Sometimes around 2010, a wealthy artifacts collector dubbed Forrest Fenn was diagnosed of a deadly ailment of which he was told by his doctor to have few days to live.

Forrest Fenn being embittered and entangled in the net of sorrow of death and bitterness of leaving his hard-earned wealth on the Earth after few days decided to hide some of his precious and valuable artifacts somewhere unknown to any human being. These hidden treasures were said to worth millions of US Dollars. He went into the forest of Sante Fe alone to hide his chest of treasures. He said, “So I decided to go ahead and hide it somewhere in the mountains north of Santa Fe, leaving clues on how to find it for any searcher willing to try".

Fortunately, just like King Hezekiah of Israel whose death date was shifted, Forrest Fenn didn't die again on the said date by his doctor. It seems death has passed over him. All thanks to God!

Having seen that with all indications that death has passed over him, Forrest Fenn encrypted the clue to his hidden chest of treasures in his book entitled, "The Thrill of the Chase: A Memoir".

Here is an excerpt of the poem in which the clue to the hidden treasures was encrypted: 

As I have gone alone in there

And with my treasures bold,

I can keep my secret where,

And hint of riches new and old.

Begin it where warm waters halt

And take it in the canyons down,

Not far, but too far to walk.

I’ve done it tired, and now I’m weak.

Your effort will be worth the cold.

If you are brave and in the wood

The publication of this book, "The Thrill of The Chase: A Memoir" propelled thousands of treasures hunters into the voyage of discovering the hidden treasures. Forrest Fenn had said that whosoever was lucky to find the hidden chest of treasures could have it all for him or herself. After series of searching and treasure hunting the hidden treasure was finally found.

On 6th June 2020, ten years after countless and hopeless searching, luck smiled on Jack Stuef from Michigan a medical student to find the hidden treasures. After the hidden treasure was discovered Forrest Fenn was quoted saying:

“It was under a canopy of stars in the lush, forested vegetation of the Rocky Mountains and had not moved from the spot where I hid it more than 10 years ago. I do not know the person who found it, but the poem in my book led him to the precise spot. I congratulate the thousands of people who participated in the search and hope they will continue to be drawn by the promise of other discoveries. So the search is over. Look for more information and photos in the coming days".

 Beyond queries from treasure seekers, Fenn has also received a number of letters from people simply wondering why on earth he would do this. “I wanted to create some intrigue and adventure and maybe a little mystery,” Fenn explains.
